My Clients on the News!

So, if you watched Channel Two News today, you may have seen the story about the 2 year old boy that fell out of the Third Floor Window. Well, he is my client! He is in the states custody and is on a trial home placement. I went to the hospital to see him and he is doing really good! It's truly a miracle. He only has a few scrapes and a bruised lung. No broken bones! The doctor said that an adult wouldn't have survived the fall, but because he is so light, the impact wasn't as bad.

Crafts, Snow, Football, and Pizza

So, here are some random pictures from this past week. Notice the crafts....I'm proud of myself...I'm pretty new at the whole crafting thing. I spent all day working on them...andI think they are really cute!

We had our first big snow storm of the season last Saturday. We had about seven inches at my house! Also, on Saturaday, we went to a Football game at the U. Mason's friend plays for Snow College and they were playing in the Junior College National Championship game. It was snowing so hard during the game! We sat up really high in the stands so we were under the announcers booth and wouldn't be in the snow. Notice how bundled up we were! I was sure that I would lose a few toes before the game ended.

After the football game, we ate with Mason's friends at "The Pie". We ordered a Giant pizza, and it was HUGE! I added a picture of Mason after he had eaten only two peices! What a wimp! He was stuffed! We got through about half of the pizza before we were all too sick to keep eating.

Thanksgiving Weekend Extravaganza!

Ok...I just thought this picture was funny...Mason was making cookies and spilled flour everywhere!

After our first round of shopping...this was about 8 am. This was about half of what we ended up buying. We are Elise, Angie, Ashley, Tara, Thelma, Cathy and Becky. And of course when we were about 5 miles from home, we "blew a rod". Actually, the tire blew out, and we were so tired, that it wasn't scary at all, but really really funny. This is us when we couldn't stop laughing after the tire blew out.

Thanksgiving weekend was a blast! Mason and I had Thanksgiving with his family in Emery County. After dinner, all of the girls headed back up north to hit the Black Friday Sales. It was my first time hitting the sales, and can I just say....CRAZY! After pigging out on gas station nachos and searching through all the ads, we went to bed at about 12. We then woke up at 3:30 to hit the sale at Kohl's that started at 4. After shopping the whole day and laughing at everything because we were deliriously tired, we finally got back to Emery County at about 5 on Friday. On Saturday, we crafted from about 10 in the morning until about 10 at night. I made some really cute things, maybe I will post some pictures later.

What!? Are you Kidding Me?!

So I went to the Dentist the other day for a normal check up, and my dentist told me that I have to get my Wisdom Teeth out! What? I'm 24 years old! I thought I would never have to get them out! I guess I have cavities on them and it will be easier to get them out than to put fillings in them. I guess in light of Thanksgiving, I will be greatful that I have good insurance right now. This would never have happened if my old dentist didn't give me the choice of getting my Wisdom teeth out. Who would have said "take em out anyways" when the dentist said, "well, you have room, I guess it's your choice if you want them out or not". Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

I Tag...Myself

Ok, so I am so super bored at work...I tagged myself. 1. I was born 8 weeks early, but still weighed 7 pounds. I also didn't spend any time in the NICU. I guess you could say that I was a miracle child! I think it was much better for my mom that she didn't go full term...I would have been a moster! 2. I am officially authorized by the State of Utah to consent to Adoptions. I am also the legal guardian of the the foster kids on my caseload...SCARY!!! Yes, I get to sign all of their school papers at the beginning of the school year...and I have to register them. Honestly...can't their foster parents do that! 3. I love love love Popcorn! I will eat it anytime! 4. I have only had stitches one time in my life. It happened when I was 11 and was slip n' sliding. I went on my knees and hit the peg that keeps the slide in the ground. Needless to say, I haven't been on a slip n' slide since. 5. I not so secretly want to go to Beauty School. I almost went right after high school, but decided against it. My sisiter in law just finished, and I am so jealous of her. I think it sounds so fun... and a lot nicer than the job I've got now. 6. With the job I have, I always have to have a vacation planned in the near future. This practice is highly recommended by my supervisors. Since I have worked for DCFS (10 months) I have gone on two week-long vacations, and have never worked a full forty hour week. (But I get paid for 40 hours!) My job is so stressfull that if I don't have something exciting to look forward to, I get burned out really quickly...thus why there is a huge turnover in my field. The next vacation that I have planned in in June to go to my brother's graduation, but that's a little too far away...we might go to Disneyland in February just to be safe.

San Francisco!

This is a little late...but, last month Mason and I went to San Francisco during his Fall Break. I was lucky enough to get the whole week off from work. I love the fact that I make my own schedule at work and can pretty much take off any days that I want.

San Francicso was a lot different than we expected, but we had a lot of fun. Some tips for those who might be visiting San Francisco in the future. Be prepared to walk alot, often times up very steep hills. Learn to use public transportation(There may be some scary people on the bus, but parking is even more scary). Parking is horrible, just leave your car at the hotel! (We may or may not have gotten a parking ticket the first hour we were in town). Definately go to Fisherman's Wharf, Peir 39 and Alcatraz. Alcatraz may be pricey, but it was the highlight of our trip. Oh yeah, stop before you get to San Francisco and go to the Jelly Belly Factory!
