Random Happiness…

001

Audrey was obsessed with cleaning the walls for a few days.  It’s hard to see, but she’s carrying around a bowl of water and a wet wipe.  She would beg me just about everyday to clean.  Can’t complain too much about that!

002

This was taken at about 32 weeks.  I’m 35 now…and bigger than that. Getting close…yay!

The next pictures are of Audrey being silly.  She was super hyper one night and we got some cute ones!

This is Audrey's favorite song...by the way.

Soooo Excited For Spring!

001

It has been super warm here the past week or so! We’re pretty much out of the cold…hooray! Last weekend we decided it was time to get the garden planted.  Audrey loved helping Mason put the seeds into the ground. Mason said that Audrey was actually a better helper last year when she was younger!

003

If you click on this picture you can get a better idea of just how muddy Audrey was. This has got to be one of my new favorite pictures too…Audrey was sooo happy to be outside in the dirt!

007

We’ve also been spending a lot of time sitting under the pergola that we built last year.  Mason’s mom sent us this swing to hang on it.  Audrey loves it!

008

She  can’t quite figure out how to sit upright in it.  She always ends up squished in the back.

004

A couple of nights ago Audrey was laying really funny while she was sleeping.  She was on her back( which is weird for her) with her arms straight down to the side like Frankenstein or something.  When Mason tried to take a picture, the flash on the camera made her grimace a little.

005     Makes for some funny pictures, though.

Big Girl Bed Update

Audrey has done amazing transitioning into her big girl bed! Pretty much once she’s in her bed, she stays.  Her favorite feature about the bed is the step stool that Mason made.  She CANNOT be helped into her bed…she had to get up using the stool!

The only downside so far has been her waking up earlier.  We put a child lock on her door so she can’t get out, so she ends up playing in her room for a good 30 minutes every morning before I have to energy to walk up the stairs to let her out(give me a break…I’m pregnant!).

During her 30 minutes of playtime, she absolutely DESTROYS her room! I cleaned it up a few days ago, but realized it’s just a waste of time cause it will be a mess again within hours!

004

Audrey…on the stool… showing off her huge mess.

003

Close up of what she’s wearing.  A cowgirl fairy…interesting.

005

Yikes

007

Playing her fairy wand like a trumpet.

008

Seriously?! Maybe she has too many toys?

009

This used to have bins full of toys on it…she decided to take all the bins down and dump them out.

010

I thought I’d put a picture of her bed-time staples.  1. Huge Dora pillow…absolute must! We contemplated taking her to Utah with us for Christmas. I’m pretty sure that Audrey blesses Dora every night when she prays. 2. Two pillows for her head.  One she actually puts her head on…the other one keeps her from hitting her head on the headboard.  We learned the hard way that Audrey tends to migrate north during the night.  3. Pinky Pie. She’s the “my little pony” creature on the green pillow. She got this from Aunt Robyn.  Pinky Pie HAS to be on the bed when she goes to sleep! Pinky Pie also talks.  This is usually how we discover that Audrey is awake in the morning…we hear “Pinky Pie Hungry” over the monitor.  4.Green Body Pillow.  This is mostly for safety.  There’s a huge gap in between the bed and the wall and we only bought one safety rail.  The body pillow has been working really well at keeping Audrey on the bed.  5. An assortment of books.  We don’t put Audrey to bed with books, but in the morning we usually find 2 or 3 in her bed.

Showing off her princess shoes.

Next on Audrey’s to-do list:

1. Binky gone (heaven help us)

2. Potty Training (heaven help us more!)

Lambert’s Cafe

During Mason’s spring break, we headed north to Sikeston, Missouri with some friends to go to Lambert’s Cafe. One of our friends had seen the restaurant on the Food Network and wanted to check it out.  It was quite the adventure! They are most famous for their thrown rolls….like literally, thrown rolls.  A server walks around yelling “hot rolls” and if you want one, you raise your hand and get one tossed to you.

The portion sizes were huge! One of our friends got chicken friend steak that was served in a family sized skillet! I think he made it through about 1/4 of it.

After you receive your food, they have another 4-5 servers come around with free sides, if you want some, they’ll plop it on your plate.

So full!

The whole gang.  We had a blast!

Big Girl Bed

The time has come to get Audrey used to a big girl bed. I can’t believe she’s actually old enough! We looked around quite a bit for a bed and we couldn’t believe how expensive they were! We found some plans online and decided to try to build the bed ourselves.  We couldn’t be happier with the end results…plus we saved a couple hundred bucks too!

012

Mason getting the saw ready.  See the pile of wood in the background? That’s what turns into the bed.  We actually made the bed right in Audrey’s room.  We weren’t too sure how heavy it would be and if I would be able to really help get the bed upstairs once it was built.

013

Audrey holding the measuring tape for Mason. She actually helped a little! She was really good at handing the screws to Mason.

017

And then, she got a little bored of helping and decided to kick back and read a book while Mason continued to slave away on the bed.

018

Headboard built, but not yet painted.

022

Headboard painted, assembling the rails.

023

so close….

024

Mason had taken his shirt off at one point  and this was Audrey’s attempt at taking hers off.

027

Ta da! All done!(With the exception of a super cute comforter!)   Mason even used some of the extra wood to make a step stool.

029

Audrey trying out the bed for the first time.  She stayed in it for about 5 minutes before she got out and started playing with her toys.  We put her back in her bed about 4 times before she got put back in her crib.  It could be an interesting week! And, yes, she still has a binky at night time…that’s another problem for another day!

All in all, making Audrey’s bed was really fun and actually went up a lot faster than we thought it would.  I think we might end up making a bed for each of our future kids too. One thing that was really cool, is that Mason wrote a message to Audrey on the bottom of the bed that she will be able to find some day!

Daddy Daughter Dates and More

Every Saturday Mason and Audrey have a special date.  Mason needs his daily soda fix so he takes Audrey with him to the gas station to get a treat.  Audrey loves going with her daddy and it’s always interesting to see what she comes home with!

001

I took this pic right before they left one morning.

002

And this is what she looked like about 20 minutes later! She sure loved that dark purple ring pop!

004

“See Mommy?”

She looked at her tongue in the mirror constantly for the next hour.

006

This was taken when I was about 25 weeks along. I’m about 28 now.  I’ve been feeling pretty good lately.  Just some back pain every now and then…and some pretty nasty heartburn…every day! Don’t mind the messy room!008

Audrey loves taking showers! She asks for them  all the time! She actually does really well in the shower, but HATES getting her hair rinsed out.  It’s always an adventure getting her clothes on too!

009

The other morning when I got Audrey out of her crib, this is what she looked like. Not quite sure how she did it, but she did. This is the pose I got when I told her to show me her arm!
